2025 Nobel Laureates Recognize Immune System Research
2025 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine awarded to Mary E. Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell, and Shimon Sakaguchi. Laureates discovered regulatory T cells that prevent immune cells from attacking the body. Shimon Sakaguchi identified a new class of immune cells linked to the Foxp3 gene. Nobel Committee chair Olle Kämpe announced the award on October 6, 2025.
