3I-Atlas Nears Sun, Exhibits Growing Tail

Comet 3I-Atlas from another star has a growing tail and wide coma of dust and gas.
Its tail is more extended than previous images, indicating increased activity as it approaches the sun.
National Optical Infrared Astronomy Laboratory confirmed 3I-Atlas is becoming more active as it moves through our solar system.
3I-Atlas will be closest to the sun in late October, remaining within Mars' orbit.
