Alberta's Sport Law Leads to Skate Canada Hosting Change

Skate Canada won't host national/international events in Alberta due to new legislation.
Bill 29, the Fairness and Safety in Sport Act, took effect Sept 1.
The law excludes athletes assigned male at birth from women's sports teams.
Decision only affects national/international events, not local programs.
Calgary recently hosted Skate Canada Challenge and national championships.
Skate Canada will monitor legislation and reassess hosting opportunities.
