Booker Prize 2024: Flesh Takes the Crown

David Szalay, a Hungarian-British writer, won the Booker Prize for Fiction for his novel Flesh.
The win was announced by Associated Press.
Roddy Doyle led the judging panel, which unanimously selected Flesh after discussing six shortlisted books over five hours.
Flesh is praised for its naturalism, with Roddy Doyle calling it 'something we had never read before.'. The winner received 50,000 pounds and a trophy from last year’s winner Samantha Harvey.
Stormzy performed an extract from Flesh at the ceremony, attended by celebrities, with books published between 2024 and 2025.
