Dobra Lithium Deal Under U.S.-Ukraine Investment Fund

Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced Kyiv awarded Dobra Lithium Holdings development rights for the Dobra deposit under a production-sharing contract with the state.
Kyiv launched the tender in August as the first project under a U.S.-Ukraine investment fund to attract Western capital and align with the U.S.-Ukraine minerals agreement.
The Dobra deposit contains over 1.28 million tonnes of lithium reserves, requires underground mining due to 80 overburden, and the tender required at least $179 million including $12 million for exploration.
TechMet's U.S. government backing means the winning consortium will direct half of Ukrainian government revenue to the joint investment fund, raising conflict-of-interest questions.
