He moved to Japan after a 2019 friendship with a Japanese wrestler.
Aonishiki reached upper divisions in a year after arriving in Japan.
Japan Sumo Association plans to promote him to ozeki.
He is the second Ukraine-born professional sumo wrestler.
Ukrainian presence in sumo grows with Shishi and Aonishiki.
