Latvia's EU Exit from Istanbul Convention

Latvia's Parliament voted to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention.
Vote: 56 in favor, 32 against, 2 abstentions.
Right-Wing parties and Union of Greens and Farmers led withdrawal push.
5,000 protested in Riga against withdrawal.
Women's rights groups and MARTA Center highlighted lives saved.
President Edgars Rinkevics may sign or veto the motion.
If signed, Latvia would be first EU country to quit the Convention, second after Turkey.
