Mayor Orders Resident to Leave Over Street Sign Controversy

Dearborn Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud told Edward Barham he was not welcome after opposing street signs honoring Osama Siblani.
Wayne County decided in August 2025 to honor Siblani, a pro-Hezbollah and pro-Hamas publisher.
Barham criticized the street naming as provocative, comparing it to roads named 'Hezbollah Street.'. Council members condemned Barham's personal attacks during a city council hearing.
Hammoud called Barham a bigot, racist, and Islamophobe, advising him to avoid Warren Avenue.
Backlash included conservatives opposing the naming and questioning if officials listen to all residents.
