Rhode Island Lawyer Arrested After Confrontation With Police
A Rhode Island prosecutor, Devon Hogan Flanagan, was arrested after refusing to leave a restaurant with police during a confrontation captured on body camera. She repeatedly stated she was a lawyer and told officers, 'You're going to regret this.' The incident occurred at Clarke Cooke House in Newport when police asked her and her friend Veronica Hannan to leave. Despite multiple requests to leave, they refused, leading to handcuffs and charges of willful trespass and related offenses. Bodycam footage showed Hannan kicking the police vehicle door while handcuffed.
