South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace Brags on $195M Infrastructure Fund While Voting Against It

South Carolina Representative Nancy Mace has claimed credit for securing a $195 million infrastructure grant for her state, despite voting against the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that made the funding possible. Mace, a right-wing politician running for South Carolina governor, stated she helped secure the largest infrastructure grant in state history through the South Carolina Department of Transportation. The grant, awarded via the Infrastructure for Rebuilding America program, was part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act signed by President Joe Biden in 2021. While Mace voted against the law, she later supported the grant application, claiming her role in ensuring the funds were appropriately allocated to South Carolina. She has made similar claims in public statements and social media, including a note that she opposed the law but now ensures the funds are reinvested locally.
