Uber Driver Arrested by Authorities in D.C. After GPS Anomaly
Washington D.C. resident Tyler DeSue noticed his Uber Eats driver, identified as Sidi, was being questioned by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents after his GPS location stopped short of his address. DeSue recorded video showing agents cuffing Sidi and taking him away. Similar incidents have occurred in the Washington area, with delivery drivers reporting reduced activity and some stopping deliveries due to fear of immigration checks. A Honduran national named Josue Mercedes Franco Cerros was arrested and detained by ICE. The Department of Homeland Security and local police have not commented on the pattern of arrests.
