UK Residents Urge Energy Regulator to Stop Tesla’s Electricity Deal
Thousands of UK residents have urged the energy watchdog Ofgem to block Tesla from supplying electricity to homes. Over 8,000 people have requested Ofgem to reject Tesla’s application due to Elon Musk’s alleged 'clear political agenda,' including his support for Donald Trump and far-right activist Tommy Robinson (Stephen Yaxley-Lennon). Campaign group Best for Britain has pushed for public objections, with 8,462 people using their online tool to submit complaints. Ofgem will decide by Friday whether to grant Tesla a license to supply power in England, Scotland, and Wales. Tesla, owned by billionaire Elon Musk, has a solar energy business and has been in the UK energy market since 2020. Recent data shows a 60% drop in UK Tesla vehicle registrations in July compared to the same period last year.
