UK Tribunal Rules Apple Abused Dominant Position

Apple lost a London lawsuit after the Competition Appeal Tribunal ruled it abused its dominant position by imposing a 30% commission on app developers.
British academic Rachael Kent represented 20 million United Kingdom iPhone and iPad users in the case.
The tribunal found Apple excluded competition and charged excessive prices, with the lawsuit valued at up to £1.5 billion.
Apple will appeal, claiming the ruling takes a flawed view of the app economy.
The case is the first of its kind in the UK, testing the new class action-style regime.
