Canada to Introduce Exit-Tracking System for International Students

Immigration Minister Lena Diab announced a pilot program to track international students with expiring visas, launching next month.
Government report in March found few problematic student visas were investigated.
64% of 153,000 reviewed student visas were valid, 22% involved individuals who left or overstayed, 14% applied for asylum.
Department working with Canada Border Services Agency to develop exit-tracking system by year-end.
