Five Men Charged in 2021 Haitian President Killing Trial

Jury selection starts Monday in U.S. federal trial for five men charged in 2021 assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse.
Accused: Arcangel Pretel Ortiz, Antonio Intriago, Walter Veintemilla, Christian Sanon, James Solages; face charges of conspiring to kidnap or kill Moïse.
Moïse was killed on July 7, 2021, by about 24 foreign mercenaries, mostly Colombian, at his home near Port-au-Prince.
South Florida was key to planning and funding the plot, with U.S. arrests and international charges.
