National Garden of American Heroes Announced
The project is a 'World Class Masterpiece' honoring figures like George Washington.
The project was proposed in 2020 and revived this year for the 250th anniversary.
Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said renovations for East Potomac Golf Links will be done by Fazio Design, a Trump Organization client.
Judy Scott Feldman of the National Mall Coalition suggested smaller statues as an alternative.
The garden will open in September 2028 with life-sized statues of Harriet Tubman and Kobe Bryant using various materials.
