Redistricting Shakes Up Kiley's Political Path

Rep. Kevin Kiley filed as no party preference candidate for 6th District including Roseville, Rocklin, and Orangevale.
Gov. Gavin Newsom's redistricting plan split Kiley's old district into six seats after Proposition 50 passed by 30-point margin.
Kiley is a registered Republican but filed as no party preference, proposed 2025 legislation to ban mid-decade redistricting (no floor vote).
Kiley's caucusing status with Republicans is uncertain as Darrell Issa announced he won't run for reelection.
June primary will determine two candidates for November, with Kiley facing opponents including former State Sen. Richard Pan, Sacramento County DA Thien Ho, West Sacramento Mayor Martha Guerrero, and Republican Christine Bish.
